Head Coaches of the teams on the game:

Alexander Andriyevsky, Head Coach of Dinamo Minsk:

- This game meant a lot to us. Lately there were publications in the press that our hockey players are being sold and the team stopped fighting. Therefore we were very seriously determined to prove it was not true. Fully aware we were to play against the strongest team in the League the guys wanted to show they could and wanted to play hockey. I am grateful to them for courage and character – they managed to keep their concentration and win even though we had two goals against in the second period.

Barry Smith, Head Coach of SKA:

- I can not say that we were completely mentally ready for the game the way we were to face Dinamo Moscow. Our defense made mistakes and our guests used every chance we gave them. Unfortunately we could not score on powerplay. I think had we scored the third goal the final result may well have been different.

Head Coaches of both teams on the game:

Sergey Nemchinov, Head Coach of CSKA:
- Speaking of the game as a whole there were two different teams on ice. In the first two periods we let our opponets control the game but in the third period we started to play, to skate and created many chances – unfortunately we ran out of time.

Barry Smith, Head Coach of SKA:
- It was a kind of game the public enjoys. We had a very strong first period and in the second period we were in control of the game. In the third period after the first goal against the game changed a lot: CSKA came back in the game in the third period. We had a chance to score the fourth goal on powerplay, but it did not happen. In the third period we won mostly thanks to Robert Esche. It was a great lesson for our team: we should keep our foot on accelerator for all the three periods or the other team can punish us for any weakness. Especially since CSKA is a very good team and the game was interesting to watch till the very end.

Head Coaches of both teams on the game:
Kari Heikkila, Head Coach of Lokomotiv:
— We were well-prepared for the game and we played according to our game plan for the first 30 minutes. Then we started making mistakes: had a turnover on the blue line, had gaps in our defense and our offence lost its edge. In the first period we had many chances to score more than 1 goal but, unfortunately, we could not execute. It will take us a lot of work to recover and go on playing.

Barry Smith, Head Coach of SKA:
— Lokomotiv is a very good team. But we played very well tonight: the defense, the forwards and the goalie. The same goes for the first period. This was our best game this season.

A question to Barry Smith: “During the game there were constant rotations in the third and the fourth blocks – what was the reason for that?”
— Maxim Rybin missed last game but he played tonight so Trubachev was moved to the fourth block.
