Lately there were publications in the press that our hockey players are being sold and the team stopped fighting. Therefore we were very seriously determined to prove it was not true. Fully aware we were to play against the strongest team in the League the guys wanted to show they could and wanted to play hockey. I am grateful to them for courage and character – they managed to keep their concentration and win even though we had two goals against in the second period. Barry Smith, Head Coach of SKA: - I can not say that we were completely mentally ready for the game the way we were to face Dinamo Moscow. Our defense made mistakes and our guests used every chance we gave them. Unfortunately we could not score on powerplay. I think had we scored the third goal the final result may well have been different. |
